Want out of town wedding guests, as the special people they treat? Design your own bag out of town just welcome them!
An out of town Home Bag can be as extensive or as simple as you want. Start by deciding what type of container you want to be your bag. It is a lovely handmade basket from the artisans of your state? Or could it be a canvas bag with your name on it in your wedding colors? Is your wedding is an informal affair? You can use a gigantic scale Chinese food container or a wooden crate (both available online or at the party of stores) to keep your goodies in. Do not have a creative bone in your body? There have already been made baskets waiting for you online.
Once you decide which type of bag you want, you're fun to decide what to do. Guests from out of town to enjoy a bag filled with items native to the place where you getting married, such as handmade soaps or small containers of honey or other unique food items. Out of town guests staying more than one day in your area, so gift certificates to local restaurants and shops will be helpful. Area maps and guides to the area are always welcome. A gift bag from Boston, a lobster bib, a gift certificate to Legal Seafood restaurant and a Boston Baked Beans candy box.
Gift bags should include basic items to make your guests feel comfortable and welcome. You could put in a pretty washcloth and fragrant soap, along with some water and maybe some gourmet coffee. You could include miniature items like toothpaste and hand cream in the bag, especially since airlines will not allow these items are taken on more surfaces.
For guests that you know something about, think about what that person want. Aunt Sue is a gardener? She might appreciate heirloom seeds from your area. Uncle Joe is a golfer? Directions to the nearest golf course tees and a number of colors in your wedding would be a surprise! Are your guests with small children travel? Magnetic games like checkers or miniature Etch-a-Sketch will please both parents and child.
Give your guests something to remember. T-Shirts your name on it, sulking or even pins can easily be placed in an out of town gift bag. Finally, a message from you to thank them for coming to your special day.
